I hate… tomatoes

Since today is Monday I think it is only fair that I review 10 things I generally hate. Some will be mildly offensive (which is a huge jump for me) and others will be funny but yet a window into my soul…

1. The sound/feeling of cotton cutting. If you think this is nuts then you have no clue what I am talking about. It hurts my teeth. I get the same sensation when yarn is being tied. Since I am not a seamstress I don’t have that happen much, nor am I crafty. I can’t explain it other than I avoid it like I avoid AIDS.

2. Hangovers!! I know everyone hates them but I actually hate them not because of the pain and the constant banging. I don’t hate them because I lose a day to nothingness, and usually this is a day I wanted to be productive. I don’t hate them because it make me fight with my best friend, beer. I hate them because it shows my age. I remember not so long ago when I use to laugh at those who had this foreign sickness. Now, I am that person! It is like with every month I age my hangovers last an extra hour. Before you know it a few drinks with the girls will end up being three days of sickness!

3. Entitlement. I think everyone should earn their own way. If you can’t because of a handicap then fine, your community can help you but if you are not working because you can’t find your dream hours/pay/JOB then GROW THE FUCK UP! It is called being a productive member of society. My opinion is if you want money from the government or as I like to call it “my hard earned money”  then you should be required to take a job working for the man themselves. There are plenty of employment opportunities in the military. What about working for the community food bank, ASPCA or cleaning the parks?? How about working cleaning the local jail, police cars, fire trucks or park bathrooms??? I once ran my own department and I can’t tell you how many people wouldn’t even come in for an interview because they were making more on unemployment… BLAH.

4. Chapstick/ grease stains. I mean seriously who knows how to get that crap out?? I know how to do it if I happen to notice it before I wash and dry it! It just appears out of nowhere! You know we have pretty awesome science but we can’t make a chapstick tube water proof or heat proof!! I know I am not alone on this crap. Lets not even start on how to keep your shirt sleeves clean while cooking….  unless you want to cook like my mom, dry and dull

5. Cell phones. I mean seriously 10 years ago I was functioning fine without a calendar, text messages, facebook and candy crush in my pocket and now I can’t even poop alone! Its not like I am a cell phone addict either I am pretty normal with mine. I am not always on it, I maybe get 1 call a day and 50 texts. I rarely use it as a phone but now for audible books and reading I use it 29/7. I guess that would be expected for someone who started using a purse so I could always have a book on me. Sometimes it scares me how we are all attached to technology. I keep saying I am going to turn off for one day a weekend and I think as I write this and I think of how my phone is nagging me to check it for a text message I didn’t get I really do need to stop this one sided relationship.

6. 24 hour news. As anyone (not like anyone really reads this, I appreciate the one person who keeps reading it) who knows me or has read back I am pretty conservative. All because of fiscal reasons. I don’t give a rats ass who anyone weds and I am extremely pro conservation I just have an issue with anyone telling me the best way to live my life of I have to support people who are unwilling to work. If you told me all my money was going to animal shelters I was be all like “Here take 50% of my pay”. Also, you should probably know I am not a HUGE fan of people. I love my furry friends. Anyways! I think one of the downfalls of American moral is 24 hour news. Let not mention how we have NO non biased news source. I want to scream at my mother because she spends all day watching the news and she is so segregated to the real world and what is going on.  She legitimately thinks this world is ending soon! I just think if you watch too much you start to lose the ability to form your own opinions. She use to read the paper, I wish her and this country would get back to that. All this technology and yet we still let other people think for us. Shame!

7.  Tomatoes! Why is that fruit on EVERYTHING!! Man you can’t even get a salad anymore without them!! They are so gross in their rare form. YUCK… They are slimy and they make you smell if you touch them. The cherry one burrow to the bottom of your salad so you can’t find it till you stabbed it and now you have tomato gew all over your salad. OH and you better read the whole description of your sandwich to know for certain that the slimy prick wont be on it… STOP IT WITH THE TOMATOES

8. Fucking drivers… Ok where I live it is winter and I am convinced that no one lived her last year or the previous 15000 years to know that snow is slick and moist. No one here can drive. If the road is clear then you can drive the speed limit and contrary to belief if it is covered and icy you can NOT drive 20 over. Nope, even if you have a monster truck with 4 wheel drve. What about if it is overcast and dark midday… naw you don’t need your headlights on… It’s cool I really wanted to sideswipe your ass! I mean seriously they let us drive at 16 years old in the country you would think that means we SHOULD have the ability to dive correctly. I am not saying I am a great driver, I am female. At least I am not an idiot!

9. 2 day weekends. It is like a cruel trick. Like here have some time off… No, I take that back come back to work. People hate Mondays because they come too quickly. I really think we all need all Wednesdays off. No more work on hump day!

10. Katy Perry. I am sure she is a swell human being but I really can’t stand her music. No matter what song that woman comes out with I cannot get the catchy non riffs out of my head! I have lost many of days to humming her crappy subpar music. I know this one is  not very kind but seriously I just wish she would have been a one hit wonder hell at this point I just want her to take a few months off. Can she just not put a song out for 6 months?? Maybe even put one out that isn’t on constantly.

Happy Monday all… time for Tuesday

Politician admits to being wrong… NO JOKE

I was on everyone’s favorite social networking site today and read one of my friend’s posts. She is an elected official for a city pretty close to me. Now, she is one of those people who is actually a friend. I have known her prior to her civil service. I am also well acquainted with her family. She actually got into politics for all the right reasons and has stuck to her guns on her beliefs. GOD BLESS HER. She serves her whole community, even those not of her party. I know her and I don’t see eye to eye on politics and our party lines but she has never let that stop her from listening to my input. Proving she is out for the good of all and not just her party.

I have a few problems with politicians besides the corruption issues. One of them is they tend to start serving their selves and forget who got them there. HELLO my number one problem with Obama is he isn’t listening to the American public. Screw what he thinks of republicans or democrats or who gets the blame this week. His approval rating is in the tank because he isn’t listening to the masses. We are his boss not his party. “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their powers from the consent of the governed.” – Declaration of Independence. We the people empower you not the other way around. Yes, I get they need money to run but elected officials in general take that oath to swear loyalty to the United States and its citizens not the pockets of those who can cut them a check for a million. My friend has never forgotten who she serves. She has an open door and is constantly in and around the community. She stands by her family, friends and is true to her platforms without writing those opposed off. She is aware that she serves her whole community not just a few who agree with her. She grasps the concept that to better the community she has to better the WHOLE community not just the people who agree with her political stance. What there is a politician out there with the ability to see a whole picture? Couldn’t be true?!

Another one of my huge issues which does touch a tad on corruption but not fully. Most politicians stop being human at some point and only live for their title. They start having their title define them and lose who they are. They are supposed to be citizens just like us. They are supposed to be available and understanding. We do have to do some work with it though. We have to tell them that they are needed and what we want to see happen. They are people just like us with things to do. They have a home life and work life. They have dinner that needs to be cooked and kids who need tended to, it is what makes them real. Once they forget what the real world is they stop representing us. My friend’s door is always open BUT at the end of the day she is a Mother of two and a wife first. She does what she can but can’t be everywhere at once. I personally believe she has gone above and beyond to assure her constituents she is there for them. She has never lost sight of whom she is and why she is where she is.

Today someone read her the riot act for not being on their street enough. Really? I would like to know if this member of the community ever picked up the phone and called her. What about shooting her an email asking for a meeting or minute? Writing an old fashion letter explaining the problem at hand and asking for help? How about going to a city council meeting and voicing ones thoughts? I am sure none of this was done. She is not psychic and only has 24 hours in a day like the rest of us. She does her job and our job as voters is to guide them and talk to them. We are just as responsible for our politician as they are responsible for us. We can not just be bumps on a log then whine and complain when they do not do what we expect.

We the people are just as much to blame for government as they are; remember we gave them their jobs. My friend is a great politician and once confronted admitted to her errors. On top of being there for her family, friends and community she can admit to being wrong??? HEY WASHINGON… take note of what this country really needs!

When does it become racism?

Race is one of the hot topics in the world today. The greatest feat Obama could have overcame was the fact that he had the chance to stand up, speak out and unite this country. I am a documented conservative for all fiscal purposes. I do not think the government has the power of God. God gave me free will and no one but I should control it. I am for less government in all aspects. This post has nothing to do with my political affiliations. I think Obama is a WONDERFUL role model for all children and that has nothing to do with his skin color. He is the commander and chief of a world power, far better than a sports icon. He proves that people in this country can see past skin and most do not even take it into account. With that said…

When is it racism? If someone does not have enough minorities as employees in their company you better believe the ACLU will get involved. Even if it is due the fact that no minority applied that was qualified for the position.  We always hear about the oppressions of the African Americans, Mexicans and now the Muslims. Why do we never hear about the oppressions of the Irish when they immigrated from Ireland due to a potato famine or the constant attacks from a huge terrorist  group called the IRA who not only attacks Ireland but England? Jews through-out the history of man who have been oppressed by almost every group and even sparked their own name for oppression now commonly known as antisemitism. They have been run out of every country they have call home, lets not even start on the Holocust. Italians who were forced out of their country first by over population then by a tyrant named Mussolini, who was a fascist dictator. These three groups were forced into our country and put in sweat shops and have been the target of many stereotypes. None of them complain of their oppression.  What about the Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese? All of them having bats with oppression. Hell, North Koreans have no idea what is going on with the rest of the world because they are so closed off. What about them Jesse Jackson?

What is bring this rant on? The movie “For the Colored Girls”. I am sure it is phenomenal but I find the title very offensive. It is bad enough that there is a whole damn month devoted for americans having rights and being intelligent! You do not hear as much about Women’s history and no one would be here is it wasn’t for a woman. BTW its October. We were oppressed far longer and that was world wide and in EVERY culture. If there was a movie called White Girls Unite or For The White Man you better believe it would be protested and slandered against. Look at the hype that was against American History X and not one person can make it through that movie with out crying for humanity as a whole.

Glen Beck is a raciest for wanting fairness for everyone. Bill O’Riely is one for demanding answers from all parties. Ann Coulter is one for not putting up with any one or any sex. Why are they raciest when Tyler Perry is not nor is Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? The last two spend a majority of their time fight for things that are ethically wrong. If they are for Civil Liberties where are they for those who lose their jobs because they are not a minority?  What about the single moms who have to work 60 hours a week and their teenagers are left alone with no guidance just to make ends meet?  What about the poor Duke students with a blemish on their records for rape allegations that were just a fabricated story by a young girl? When is it racism?   Is it only political incorrect when it is against someone black, Muslim or Hispanic?
